Corporate Social Responsibility
sustainability

As part of SHOURA’s Corporate Social Responsibility, SHOURA Foundation for Development was established in 2012, with the purpose of paying back to the society through enhancing the employability of young Egyptians; aspiring for good careers and better living standards.

In order to achieve this objective,
SHOURA Foundation for Development, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Faculties of Agriculture and Technical Secondary Agricultural Schools is implementing a number of programmes

First : SHOURA’s "Internship Programme", which annually provides over 1500 supervised in-company training opportunities to students of Technical Secondary Schools and Faculties of Agricultural, in order to build up their practical skills and allow them to compete for decent job opportunities

Second : Programme to "Support Strategic Crops", which aims at enhancing the productivity of some of Egypt's strategic crops (such as wheat and corn) through training students in best agricultural practices and encouraging the transfer of skills from school to farm.

In 2014, SHOURA launched a competition, among its trainees, for Highest Wheat Productivity in 8 governorates in Upper Egypt. The students' results of harvesting in April/May 2015 showed an increase in productivity across all governorates in comparison to the average productivity reported by the Ministry of Agriculture:
